SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Scoring two game-winning goals on the week, Oral Roberts’ Brianna Castleberry earned Summit League Women’s Soccer Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, the League announced on Tuesday. Helping South Dakota secure two consecutive shutouts on the week, defender Elsie Odney won Defensive Peak Performer of the Week.
 
Castleberry scored two game-winning goals in both matches last week as Oral Roberts defeated both North Dakota State and North Dakota, 1-0. Castleberry converted a penalty kick in the 32nd minute of ORU’s 1-0 win over North Dakota State on Thursday, then again in the 11th minute in Sunday’s 1-0 victory over North Dakota. She scored on two of her three shots across 132 minutes, with both goals deciding the match. She also leads the Summit League in goals with 13, which are currently tied for 12th all-time in League history.
 
This is Castleberry’s fourth and Oral Roberts’ seventh weekly honor this season. The four awards tie Castleberry for the most offensive awards in a season with fellow Golden Eagle Jessica Kellogg (2004) and NDSU’s Lauren Miller (2015).
 
Odney helped anchor the South Dakota defense that secured back-to-back road shutouts in wins over Omaha and St. Thomas last week. She also helped on the offensive side with two assists in the 3-0 win over St. Thomas.
 
This is Odney’s first weekly honor this year and South Dakota’s fourth.
