The Stage is Set for 2026 #SummitWSOC Championship

Golden Eagles garner top spot for second consecutive year

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The 2026 Summit League Women's Soccer Championship bracket was revealed by league officials on Sunday with Oral Roberts claiming the No. 1 seed for the second-straight year. The Golden Eagles clinched the outright regular season title following a 1-0 victory over Omaha Thursday night.

North Dakota State earned the No. 2 seed and bye through the quarterfinals after a 1-0 victory over South Dakota State on Sunday. The Bison earn a top two seed for the first time since 2024, when they hoisted the regular season crown and hosted the Summit League Championship. They finished the season with four consecutive wins to put themselves two wins away from a championship.

The Golden Eagles won the program’s fifth Summit League regular season title and second consecutive after winning a share of the title in 2025. Last season, ORU came up just short of a Summit League Championship title as the No. 1 seed, falling to South Dakota State 2-0 in the championship game. ORU’s 8-0-2 League record is the second-longest conference unbeaten streak to start a League season with only SDSU’s 16 in the 2020 expanded 16-game league season due to Covid-19 in front of them.

ORU earned a first-round bye along with NDSU and will host both semifinal matches on Thursday, Nov. 12 and the final on Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Case Soccer Complex in Tulsa, Okla. The Golden Eagles will be hosting the tournament for the seventh time.

The six-team, single-elimination tournament will also feature two quarterfinal matches next weekend, which will be hosted by No. 2 seed of Pod A SDSU and No. 2 seed of Pod B Omaha. All five matches will be streamed on the Summit League Network.

South Dakota State fell to NDSU to round out the regular season and will play the No. 3 seed of Pod B St. Thomas next Friday at 6 p.m. CT at Fishback Soccer Stadium in Brookings. South Dakota State dropped a 1-0 contest to the Tommies on the road in their lone meeting on Oct. 15. The Jackrabbits finished with 17 points and 5-3-2 league record. The Jackrabbits are winners of the last three Summit League Women’s Soccer Championships, while St. Thomas reaches the conference tournament for the first time in program history.

Omaha completed the regular season with 12 points and a 3-4-3 record mark. The Mavericks will host No. 3 seed in Pod A USD on Friday at 2:30 p.m. CT in Omaha. The Coyotes, who beat South Dakota 1-0 on Oct. 15, also finished 3-4-3 and went 3-2 on the road in conference play.

The winner of Sunday’s title match will earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
