SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota’s Isaac Bruns headlined a group of five honorees on the Summit League Academic All-League Men’s Basketball Team, League officials announced Wednesday. Bruns was the lone repeat honoree and only one with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Bruns, who is majoring in business, was also impactful on the court before an injury cut his season short after 20 starts. He was averaging a league-best 20.8 ppg and 5.1 rpg at the time of his injury.
Bruns was joined on the all-academic team by the NDSU’s Noah Feddersen and Andy Stefonowicz, who made up the only pair of teammates recognized by the voting panel consisting of sports information directors and faculty athletic representatives from each member.
Feddersen was named the Sixth Man of the Year and completed his bachelor's degree in finance this past December with a 3.65 GPA. He averaged 9.3 ppg and 5.0 rpg and earned a spot on the Summit League All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Bison to their first title since 2020.
Stefonowicz, who carries a 3.67 GPA in his pursuit of a business administration degree, was the league’s top assist man with 4.8 per game. He also averaged 9.1 ppg and along with Feddersen helped NDSU claim a regular season title as well.
Joining those three were St. Thomas’ Ben Oosterbaan and Omaha’s Grant Stubblefield. Oosterbaan holds a 3.74 GPA in Financial Management and helped the Tommies to their fourth straight 20-win season and a NIT appearance. He started all 34 games, averaging 7.6 ppg and 4.2 rpg.
Stubblefield, who carries a 3.65 GPA in his pursuit of a business administration degree, started 22 of 26 games he appeared in for the Mavericks, averaging career-highs in points (9.3/g), assists (3.3/g) and rebounds (3.1/g).
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of his team's competitions.
