SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A total of 15 student-athletes earned recognition on the 2026 Summit League Softball Academic All-League Team following voting by the league’s Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors. The honor recognizes outstanding achievement both academically and throughout the softball season.
South Dakota, South Dakota State, and Omaha each led all teams with three honorees, while North Dakota and St. Thomas each had two selections. North Dakota State and Kansas City rounded out the list with one honoree apiece.
St. Thomas senior Kameron Monson, a neuroscience major with a 4.00 GPA, highlighted the group as a two-time Academic All-League selection and was also named the Scholar of the Championship presented by JLG Architects prior to the Summit League Tournament.
Five additional student-athletes also earned their second career honor, including South Dakota State’s Akayla Barnard and South Dakota’s Abi Brown and Autumn Iversen, along with North Dakota’s Taya Hopfauf and Camryn Lasota.
The remaining honorees were first-time selections. South Dakota State was represented by Emma Christensen and Cece Hanson, while North Dakota State’s Jessica Delatorre and South Dakota’s Madison Evans also collected their first Academic All-League honor. Omaha featured Maddia Groff, Rylinn Groff and Katherine Johnson, while Kansas City’s Katie Noble and St. Thomas’ Avery Wukawitz also earned their first selection.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions, except pitchers who must have participated in 20 percent of their team’s total contests.
Nominations are brought forth by sports information directors from the league's seven institutions that carry softball, and voting is conducted by both the SIDs and facility athletic representatives (FARs). The team is made up of the 10 student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
