USD’s Pesicka and Fischer Secure First #SummitWSOC Weekly Honors of Year

The Coyotes sweep peak performer weekly awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – After defeating Northern Iowa and drawing Nebraska, South Dakota’s Kinsley Pesicka and Cambell Fischer were tabbed the Summit League Women’s Soccer Peak Performers of the Week following the first week of the 2026 season. Pesicka earned the offensive honor, while Fischer garnered the defensive award, league officials announced on Tuesday.
 
In her first collegiate match, Pesicka scored in the opening two minutes to help South Dakota to a 4-0 victory over Northern Iowa. In the very next game, Pesicka scored the first goal of the game against Big Ten Conference opponent Nebraska to give the Coyotes a 1-0 lead before the Cornhuskers tied the match. The freshman finished the week with two goals, three shots, two shots on goal and four points.
 
Fischer anchored the defense to help the Coyotes to a 1-0-1 start to the season. In the 4-0 shutout of Northern Iowa, the junior goalkeeper recorded three saves in 81 minutes to open the season. Against Nebraska, Fischer kept the Cornhuskers scoreless for the first 83 minutes of the match while making eight saves in the 1-1 draw. She finished the week with 11 total saves.

  • Held Nebraska scoreless for 83 minutes while collecting 8 total saves in the match.
  • This is the first career Summit League weekly award for Fischer.
