SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Summit League women’s soccer was once again in full force this past week with another set of program records broken. Seven of eight teams were competing after North Dakota’s lone game of the week was cancelled due to weather. All eight Summit League women’s soccer programs will be on the pitch this week.
 
In the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer West Region rankings, Oral Roberts continued to be ranked at No. 3 while South Dakota State came in at No. 10.
 
Oral Roberts earned another 2-0 week after a 1-0 shutout victory at home against UC Riverside last Wednesday and then defeated Friends for another shutout on Sunday, 4-0. The Golden Eagles are 4-0 to start the season, their best start in program history. Forward Brianna Castleberry scored a goal in each of ORU’s four games and leads the League in goals with four and points with eight. Cameron Silva of the Golden Eagles also leads the League in assists with four. The Golden Eagles will be on the road Thursday night to take on North Texas before hosting SEC opponent Oklahoma on Sunday night.

 



South Dakota State’s high-flying offense continued in the 3-0 victory over Washington State last Thursday. The Jackrabbits’ 20 goals on the season are tied for second in the nation as of Wednesday morning. SDSU also are tied for third in assists per game (5.75), fourth in points per game (15.75) and tied for third in goal differential (18). South Dakota State will host Western Illinois on Thursday.
 
South Dakota’s three second-half goals secured the Coyotes the 3-0 victory last Sunday over Morningside. The Coyotes in their second game of the week kept Green Bay’s offense scoreless the first 45 minutes of the game before the Phoenix were able to score the winning goal. Goalkeeper Cambell Fischer tallied three saves on the week, giving her the second-most in the League with 14 while her .875 save percentage ranks third. The Coyotes travel west this week as they will face off against Northern Colorado on Thursday and Wyoming on Sunday.
 
Omaha picked up its first win of the season on Thursday, shutting out Northern Iowa, 1-0. On Sunday, the Mavericks traveled to Green Bay and forced the scoreless draw against the Phoenix. 2025 Second Team All-Summit League member Kendall Dobberstein scored the lone goal for Omaha on the week. The defense, anchored by this week’s Summit League Women’s Soccer Defensive Peak Performer Grace Bartlam, allowed just two shots on goal last week. Omaha has only allowed one goal on the season, a feat only the Mavericks and Golden Eagles lay claim to. Omaha will travel to Lincoln to take on Big 10 opponent Nebraska Thursday then host Lindenwood on Sunday.
 
North Dakota State started last week with an intense second-half battle with Big 10 opponent Minnesota last Thursday. After 45 minutes of scoreless play, 2024 Summit League Offensive Player of the Year Morgan Russmann scored her first goal of the season to give the Bison the lead before Minnesota scored two unanswered goals. On Sunday, NDSU hosted Washington State to a scoreless draw. 2024 Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year Payton Mulberry tallied three saves to record her first cleansheet of the season and eighth of her career, moving her into a tie for ninth in program history. North Dakota State hosts Prairie View A&M on Thursday and then Presbyterian on Sunday.
 
North Dakota hosts two matches this week, with Presbyterian coming to Grand Forks on Thursday before taking on Prairie View A&M on Sunday.
 
Kansas City will be on the road for its lone game of the week as the Kangaroos head to Creighton on Thursday.
 
St. Thomas competes in two road games this week, first traveling to Green Bay to face the Phoenix then coming back to Minnesota to face Minnesota.
