UST’s McEwan, ORU’s Sebban Earn #SummitWSOC Weekly Accolades

Golden Eagles continue to make history

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – After scoring twice on the week for St. Thomas, Izzy McEwan earned the Summit League Women’s Soccer Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, the League office announced on Tuesday. After collecting nine saves on the week, goalkeeper Alyson Sebban of Oral Roberts earned Defensive Peak Performer of the Week.
 
Izzy McEwan of St. Thomas scored her first two goals of the season this week. In a 1-1 draw against Green Bay, McEwan scored the first goal of the contest in the 65th minute before Green Bay answered shortly after to force the tie. In the match against Big Ten opponent Minnesota, McEwan scored St. Thomas’ lone goal of the game in the 55th minute to cut the Golden Gophers’ lead to one.  
 
In a week that saw Oral Roberts continue to stay unbeaten, goalkeeper Alyson Sebban anchored the defense to force 1-1 draws on the road against North Texas and at home against Oklahoma. Sebban faced 24 shots across the two matches and tallied nine saves for an .818 save percentage while allowing just one goal in each match. Against North Texas, she stopped five of six shots on goal in the 1-1 road draw and then followed that up with four saves on five shots on goal against SEC opponent Oklahoma, including a penalty-kick save in the 27th minute that kept the Golden Eagles within one before teammate Brianna Castleberry scored a PK in the 82nd minute to force the 1-1 draw.
