SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Summit League women’s soccer saw another great week of action as all eight programs competed in high-intensity matches across the country. All eight schools will once again be in action this week!
 
In the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer West Region rankings, Oral Roberts is No. 4.
 
The Golden Eagles continue to make history this season. After 1-1 draws against North Texas and SEC opponent Oklahoma, Oral Roberts is still unbeaten at 4-0-2 and continues a program-best start. Oral Roberts’ freshman goalkeeper Alyson Sebban led the way for the Golden Eagles this week, picking up nine saves on the week, including a save on a penalty kick in the 27th minute against Oklahoma to keep ORU within one. In the 82nd minute, Oral Roberts earned its own PK as Brianna Castleberry scored her League-leading fifth goal of the season to force the 1-1 draw. Sebban’s .857 save percentage on the year leads the Summit League. Sebban also recorded a career-high five saves in the 1-1 draw against North Texas. Oral Roberts will be at Little Rock on Saturday night.
 
The Jackrabbits’ offense stayed hot in their lone game of the week, defeating Western Illinois 5-0. All five goals for South Dakota State came from different players as Katelyn Beulke scored the first off a header in the 17th minute and Zehlia Salanoa, Jenna Maloy, Emily Krings and Brianna Finnegan followed suit. SDSU also held the Fighting Leathernecks to just one shot on goal. Five of the top six individual assist leaders in the Summit League this season compete for the Jackrabbits: Abbi Gibbs (4), Mia Bosch (4), Katelyn Beulke (3), Hannah Langstaff (3), Ellie Gusman (3). South Dakota State continues to rank highly in multiple national statistical categories – first in assists per game (6.2), second in points per game (16.2), second in goal differential (23) and fourth in the nation in goals per game (5.0). South Dakota State hosts Colorado College on Thursday and Idaho on Sunday.
 
North Dakota earned its first two wins of the season after going 2-0 on the week at home. In the 2-1 win over Presbyterian last Thursday, the Fighting Hawks earned their first win thanks to two headers on the day – Lillian Bashaw netted her first career goal in the 15th minute to start the scoring before Annie Stook scored on a header in the 83rd minute to reclaim the lead. In the second win of the week, UND used an early scoring advantage to its benefit in the 4-1 victory. Three goals came within the first 15 minutes of play, including a Cora Ellermann goal in the first 50 seconds of the contest. It was the second-fastest goal in school history. The Fighting Hawks travel to California this week for two road games, competing against UC Santa Barbara Thursday and then UC Riverside on Sunday.
 
In their trip out West, the Coyotes played Northern Colorado to a scoreless draw and battled Wyoming in a 5-2 loss. In her third clean sheet of the season, goalkeeper Cambell Fischer tallied five saves against the Bears. Fischer added five more in the loss to Wyoming, bringing her season total to 24 so far to lead the Summit League in saves. Her .774 save percentage is fourth in the League. USD returns home for two games, hosting Idaho on Thursday and then Drake on Sunday.
 
St. Thomas scored its first goal of the season last Thursday in a 1-1 draw against Green Bay. UST’s Izzy McEwan got the scoring started in the 65th minute to give the Tommies a 1-0 lead before the Phoenix responded in the 70th minute to force the draw. In the 2-1 loss to Minnesota, McEwan scored again for St. Thomas in the 56th minute to cut the Golden Gophers’ lead to one. Goalkeeper Sophia Alvarez made 12 saves in the match to bring her season total to 18, the second-most in the Summit League. The freshman’s 12 saves in the game are also tied for the sixth-most saves in a game in all of Division I. The Tommies host Butler for their one match of the week on Saturday.

After a 3-0 loss to Nebraska, Omaha ended the week with a scoreless draw against Lindenwood. The Mavericks’ defense once again shined against the Lions, allowing just one shot on goal. Goalkeeper Cadence Fagan picked up a save in the match and in the loss to Nebraska, Fagan also tallied 10 saves to bring her season total to 16 – good for third in the League. The 10 saves are also the second-highest save total of the season within the Summit League. Omaha will stay at home for a lone match this week against Idaho State on Thursday.
 
North Dakota State garnered an unbeaten week after a 3-1 victory over Prairie View A&M and a scoreless draw against Presbyterian. NDSU’s Maddie Miller and Ellie Sanchez scored their first career goals along with Morgan Russmann to give the Bison the victory on Thursday. In the draw against Presbyterian, goalkeeper Payton Mulberry picked up her second shutout of the season and tallied one save. Her 16 saves on the season are tied for third in the Summit League. The Bison will head to California for two matches this week, taking on Westmont on Thursday and then battling it out on the pitch with UC Santa Barbara on Sunday.
 
Kansas City battled Creighton to a 1-0 loss in its lone game of the week. Hayes Fitzgerald collected a team-high five saves on the night. The Roos will be on the road for their lone match of the week, facing Kansas.
