SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Scoring three goals in the first week of League play, Brianna Castleberry earned Summit League Women’s Soccer Offensive Peak Performer of the Week, the League announced on Tuesday. Kansas City’s defender Mia Ozanne claimed Defensive Peak Performer of the Week after helping the Roos allow just one goal on the week.
Castleberry scored all three goals for Oral Roberts on the week, leading ORU to a 1-0-1 record to open League play. In 132 minutes of play, she posted 10 shots and six shots on goal. Castleberry also leads the Summit League with 11 goals on the season and 23 points.
This is Castleberry’s third and the Golden Eagles’ fifth weekly honor. Castleberry’s three ties her for the third-most weekly offensive accolades in a season in Summit League women’s soccer history, which was most recently accomplished by former member Denver’s Natalie Beckman.
Ozanne picked up the assist on the game-winning goal in the 88th minute in Sunday’s match against St. Thomas as the Roos got the 1-0 win. The freshman played all 90 minutes of the game and played all 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Oral Roberts.
This is Ozanne’s first and Kansas City’s second weekly award of the season.
