Summit League Presidents Council
The Summit League Presidents Council (PC) holds ultimate authority and responsibility for the governance of the league. All policy is decided at the PC level, including the conference office annual budget and all other financial matters.
Other responsibilities of the PC include, but are not limited to, hiring and determining duties of The Summit League Commissioner, enforcing conference rules, agreements, appendices and bylaws, amending or repealing bylaws and admitting new institutions into membership.
The PC Executive Committee conducts the regular business of the council between its two annual meetings and provides direction to the commissioner in the conduct of the day-to-day operations of the league.

Summit League Joint Council
The Summit League Joint Council (JC) consists of the Director of Athletics and the Senior Woman Administrator of each member. The functions of the JC include considering, debating and voting upon matters pertaining to the League Sports Regulations, and working with the League Sport Committees regarding the Sports Regulations.
This group will also reccommend to the Presidents Council new legislation, amendments to existing legislation, or other matters, which may improve the efficient administration of the League, or ensure compliance with NCAA and League regulations.
The JC also verifies that the athletic contests of the member institutions and the League's Championship events are operated in compliance with NCAA and League regulations, maintains League policies and procedures that commit to diversity, equity, and fiscal responsibility and handles any other matters as directed by the PC.

Faculty Athletics Representatives Council
The Summit League Faculty Athletics Representatives Council (FARC) consists of the Faculty Athletics Representative from each member. The functions of the FARC include reveiwing academic standards and academic concerns that affect student-athletes and members and reviewing League academic standards and policies as they concern eligibility for regular season and League Championship competition.
This group also reccommends actions or policies that may be needed to enhance the academic progress of the student-athlete along with maintaining League policies and procedures that commit to diversity, equity and fiscal responsibility.
