Oral Roberts' Jonah Lagat placed 55th at the NCAA Cross Country Championship Monday in Terre Haute, Ind. The junior from Kenya moved up from 172nd-place finish in last year's NCAA meet. Click

Oral Roberts' freshman Kevi Luper set Summit League single game records with 44 points and 19 field goals in the Golden Eagles' 76-55 victory over LaSalle on Nov. 20. The 44 points eclipsed the mark set by Brianne Kenneally of Youngstown State in 2000-01 while the field goal total topped the record of 18 set by Southern Utah's Myndee Larsen during the 1997-98 season. Even though Oakland came up short in its upset bid at No. 1 Kansas on Wednesday, Keith Benson made quite an impression. The junior center finished with 20 points, six rebounds and four blocked shots against the nation's top team. Eleven Western Illinois University Intercollegiate Athletic programs scored 80 percent or better in the most recent Graduation Success Rate (GSR) data released by the NCAA.The Fighting Leatherneck volleyball program, led by head coach Kym McKay and Western Illinois' women's swimming and diving program, led by head coach Greg Naumann, boasted perfect 100 percent GSR scores. Both the volleyball and women's swimming and diving programs were the highest scoring teams in their respective sports in The Summit League. Click here to read more.

IPFW pulled off an upset of top-seeded North Dakota State in The Summit League Volleyball Championship last Saturday before 1,615 fans in Fargo, N.D. The victory gave the third-seeded Mastodons their first Summit League championship and initial NCAA Division I Tournament appearance. Pairings for the 2009 NCAA Tournament will be announced Sunday, Nov. 29, at 3 p.m. ET on ESPNews. The 'Dons will learn their opponent at that time while North Dakota State, who set a Summit League record with 37 consecutive wins in league matches, will await word on a potential at-large berth. Western Illinois announced the hiring of Mike Villano as its new head baseball coach. Villano spent the past six seasons at Central Michigan University, where he served as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator and spent last season as the team's hitting coach. Former Centenary basketball player Herb Lang, who is also a member of the Harlem Globetrotters, and his Globetrotters teammate Nathanial Lofton are among four teams remaining on CBS' Amazing Race. The duo is vying for the $1 million prize. You can view the "best of" Herb and Nathaniel
