Sixteen Summit League golfers were namd All-American Scholars by the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) and Cleveland Golf it was announced by the organizations last month. Five male league golfers and 11 female league golfers were honored with these prestigious awards.

Three Summit League athletes were named to the ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-District at-large teams on Thursday. After winning its third straight Summit League title, the Western Illinois men's golf team earned the automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals. On Monday, the NCAA announced that the Leathenecks will participate in the East Regional in Chattanooga, Tenn., from May 15-17, at the Council Fire Golf Club.

On Monday, it was revealed that the Golden Eagles will play in the West Regional in Lincoln, Calif. The regional will be played May 8-10 and hosted by Sacramento State University.
