Jackrabbits and Coyotes Split #SummitSD Weekly Honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Week five of the swimming and diving season is complete and this week's Summit League weekly award winners had stellar performances at the USD Quad Duals in their respective events. South Dakota State's Emily Pincus was named the female swimmer recipient, while South Dakota's Cooper Fuchs earned the male swimmer of the week award. On the diving board, South Dakota's Haley Pederson claimed the female diver of the week, while South Dakota State's Zach Boyd was tabbed the men's diver of the week.

 

Female Swimmer of the Week
Emily Pincus, South Dakota State
Jr. | Champlin, Minn.

• Won three events and was top-two in each of the four individual events competed in

• Her 5:03.42 first-place 500 Free time is good for third-fastest in the league this season

• Also placed first in the 200 Free (1:52.87) and swam a 53.36 in the first 100-yard leg of 400 Freestyle Relay

• First career swimmer of the week award

Female Diver of the Week
Haley Pederson, South Dakota

• Placed first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 272.60 at the USD Quad Duals

• Also earned a 1-meter dive score of 240.05, finishing second overall

• Fourth career diver of the week accolade

Male Swimmer of the Week

• Placed first in five of the six events at the USD Quad Duals

• Moved into sixth on the Coyotes' Top 10 list with a first-place 50 Free time of 20.73

• Other first-place times included the 100 Free (46.75), 200 Free Relay (1:23.45/1st leg, 20.65), 200 Medley Relay (1:35.82/4th leg, 20.67) and 400 Free Relay (3:04.79/4th leg, 45.55)

• This is his first-career swimmer of the week accolade
