NDSU, USD, UND take home final indoor weekly award

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Personal-best performances and an NCAA broken record earned four Summit League track and field student-athletes the final indoor weekly accolades of the season, released by league officials Tuesday. North Dakota State's Alex Brosseau and South Dakota's Chris Nilsen secured the honor on the men's side while NDSU's Michaela Baker and North Dakota's Makala Keefe claimed the award on the women's side.

Brosseau's performance at the UND Indoor Tune-Up headlined the efforts of the Bison men's track and field team. Brosseau clocked a winning time of 21.73 in the 200m dash which moved him up to fifth in NDSU indoor history. Brosseau also won the 60m dash while setting a new personal-best twice. He clocked a 6.95 in the prelims and followed that up with a 6.93 in the final.

At the Nebraska Tune-Up, Nilsen broke the NCAA Indoor record for the pole vault when he cleared 19-05.50. His winning vault moves him up to third in the world this indoor season and is the 15th-best indoor mark in world history. This winning height is a four-and-a-half inch indoor best for Nilsen.

On the women's side, Baker took home another title for the Bison at the UND Indoor Tune-Up. The sophomore won the 60m hurdles in a season-best time of 8.51. Her time now ranks second all-time at NDSU in the event.

In the field at the UND Indoor Tune-Up, Keefe improved by over a foot-and-a-half in the weight throw with a winning throw of 61-10.25 (18.85m). She out threw her closest competitor by 17 inches. Keefe's winning launch moved her to second all-time in UND history.
