BROOKINGS, S.D. (gojacks.com) -- The South Dakota State University women's basketball team opened the game with a 16-3 run and recorded a 60-49 nonconference win over Sam Houston State Monday night in front of 1,557 fans at Frost Arena.
The Jacks, who snapped a two-game losing streak, were led by sophomore Kerri Young and her team-high 11 points. Freshman Macy Miller added nine points as did senior Rachel Walters in a reserve role. Nine Jackrabbits scored in the game. SophomoreClarissa Ober snared a game- and career-high 12 rebounds. She also blocked three shots, tying her career best.
Oral Roberts 70, Missouri State 57 | Recap
TULSA, Okla. (oruathletics.com) -- Vicky McIntyre led the way for the Oral Roberts University women's basketball team Monday night as her third double-double of the season helped propel the Golden Eagles over Missouri State, 70-57.
McIntyre's third double-double of the season came with a season-best 23 points and 13 rebounds. The senior narrowly missed a triple-double for the second consecutive game as she added eight blocks in the win.
South Dakota 96, UC Irvine 52 | Recap
VERMILLION, S.D. (goyotes.com) -- Raeshel Contreras tied her season-high of 24 points while Nicole Seekamp added 22 points as South Dakota women's basketball won its home opener against UC Irvine 96-52 in the DakotaDome on Monday night.
Contreras shot 8-for-14 from the field and 4-for-9 from 3-point range, while Seekamp was 9-for-11 from the field and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc. Seekamp also dished out seven assists. Kate Liveringhouse tallied 15 points in her DakotaDome debut while Heidi Hoff tallied 10 points in her first home game in 11 months.
