Seven of the league's teams secured at least a point during the opening weekend of regular-season play, including North Dakota and Oral Roberts, who both picked up a pair of shutouts.

Around The League
• ORU and UND led the way with six points apiece as the Golden Eagles won the UTRGV Tournament with a pair of 1-0 victories, while the Fighting Hawks combined for seven goals in blankings of Nicholls State and Southern.
• The Golden Eagles will put their undefeated record to the test with a pair of home matches against UTSA (Friday) and Lamar (Sunday).
• The Fighting Hawks do not hit the pitch again until Aug. 31 when they play Idaho in the opening game of the Montana Invitational.
• UND forward Katie Moller welcomed herself to The Summit League scene by collecting Offensive Player of the Week honors. She tallied a league-high five points in UND's shutout victories and was the only league player to score twice. Goalkeeper Olivia Swenson earned both of those shutouts for the Fighting Hawks and has four total in her last five starts dating back to last year.
• ORU goalkeeper Ryliegh Bohnenstiehl also had a nice opening weekend, helping the Golden Eagles to a pair of 1-0 victories by stopping all six shots she faced. The senior netminder earned the fourth Defensive Player of the Week accolade of her career.
• After having its original season opener canceled at Wisconsin, NDSU knocked off Green Bay 4-1 in its eventual one on Sunday. Junior Mariah Haberle paced the Bison offense with a goal and an assist. Roxy Roemer added a pair of assists in the win over the Phoenix.
• Despite playing just one match, Haberle shared the league-high total in shots with eight on the opening weekend. Moller also got off eight shots for UND.
• The Bison were the only Summit League team receiving votes in the UnitedSoccerCoaches.org Top 25 poll this week. NDSU received eight votes.
• Next up for the Bison is their home opener vs. Weber State on Sunday.
• Denver, Omaha, Purdue Fort Wayne and South Dakota all posted identical 0-1-1 records during the opening weekend.
• The Pioneers' two matches were both parts of the annual Colorado Cup. DU has one match remaining in that three-game event at Colorado on Sept. 16. DU travels to the Sunshine State for a pair of matches this week (at FAU; Aug. 23 and at FIU; Aug. 26).
• After dropping a pair of road matches to Big 12 foes Iowa State and Kansas, South Dakota State opens a six-match homestand on Friday against Wayne State.
• Western Illinois had its season-opener at Missouri State count as a 1-0 loss in a weather-shortened affair against the Bears.  WIU will look to crack the win column on Thursday at Northern Illinois.
