Sarah Humphries joined the Summit League staff in June of 2026 after being named the Director of Sport & Championship Operations. She will be the primary sport liaison for men's and women's cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field and golf.
Humphries arrives in Sioux Falls following an eight-year stint at the University of Iowa where she served as the director of operations for the women's field hockey program. Her duties included handling all team travel coordination, oversight of the program's meals arrangements, along with serving as the liaison to the athletic department's equipment, event management and external relations staffs. She also coordinated on-campus recruiting efforts and coordinated the program's camps and clinics.
Prior to her run with the Hawkeyes, Humphries was the head women's field hockey coach at Transylvania University, a Division III program, in Lexington, Ky from 2014-18.
Humphries first collegiate coaching job came at Earlham College, a Division III school in Richmond, Ind., where she was an assistant coach from 2011-13. She played field hockey at Centre College from 2007-11 where she earned a bachelor's degree in biology.
In 2015, she received her master's degree in recreation and sports administration with a focus on athletic administration and coaching from Western Kentucky.
