Omaha’s Burkhardt, Kansas City’s Hoveland earn #SummitSB weekly awards

Burkhardt, Hoveland notch weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha outfielder Lexi Burkhardt and Kansas City pitcher Mia Hoveland collected the latest #SummitSB weekly accolades after solid performances, league officials announced Monday.
 
Burkhardt went 7-for-13 at the plate with one home run, three RBI and three runs scored along with a .769 slugging percentage to power Omaha at the Michelle Short Memorial Classic. In the five-game series, the Grenta, Neb., native had a least one hit in each of the five games and recorded a .571 on-base percentage.

Hoveland had stellar performances in the three-game weekend sweep against Drake, throwing 11 innings with 14 strikeouts and surrendered six hits along with zero runs allowed. Additionally, she recorded wins in the first two games of the series and notched a save in game three. The McFarland, Wis., native also held opponents to a .143 batting average.
