SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Western Illinois infielder Sydney Hollings has been named the #SummitSB Player of the Week, while Omaha’s Kamryn Meyer picked up the pitcher of the week honor, league officials announced Monday.

Hollings batted .500 (6-for-12) at the plate with an impressive 1.167 slugging percentage in six games. The Leatherneck infielder drove in seven RBI, scored five runs, was hit by a pitch and recorded a sacrifice fly. The Normal, Ill., native went 5-for-7 against NDSU with two home runs, two doubles, four walks and seven RBI.

Meyer pitched in two complete games against North Dakota where she struck out 24 batters and gave up just two hits in 14 innings of work. The Wilton, Iowa native struck a career-best and Summit League single game high 13 batters in the first game against the Fighting Hawks.

She followed up that performance striking out 11 batters in her second appearance on the weekend. Meyer posted a 0.00 ERA and held her opponents to a .043 batting average.
