SDSU sweeps #SummitSB weekly awards

Carrillo, Glanzer notch weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State swept this week’s softball honors, as shortstop Rozelyn Carrillo and pitcher Grace Glanzer collected the latest #SummitSB weekly accolades after solid performances, league officials announced Monday.

Carrillo went 7-for-16 at the plate with three home runs, nine RBI, two doubles and six runs scored along with a 1.125 slugging percentage to power the Jackrabbits at the Colorado Classic. Her weekend was highlighted by a five-RBI performance going 3-for-3 and drilling a home run and a double. In the five-game series, the Palmdale, Calif., native had a least one hit in each of the five games and recorded an errorless defensive effort in 15 total chances.

Glanzer had stellar performances at the Colorado Classic, which was highlighted by tossing no-hitter in a 7-0 win against Oregon State where she struck out four and walked three hitters. Her second win of the tournament came against Colorado State where she struck out three hitters. Her final appearance game in relief in the final game of the tournament against the Rams where she tossed two shutout innings. In all, the Sioux Falls, S.D., native tossed 16 innings and struck out eight batters.
