SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A total of eight Summit League volleyball student-athletes have been selected to the 2020 Academic All-League team as voted on by a panel of Faculty Athletic Representatives and Sports Information Directors from the league's member institutions. Student-athletes were chosen for the honor based on their academic and athletic performances this past season. Omaha had the most selections out of the institutions with three total.
 
Omaha's Anna Blaschko received the accolade for her third-straight season, while teammates Sadie Limback notched her second-consecutive honor and Sami Clarkson received the first of her career. South Dakota landed two on the team with All-League first-team honoree Elizabeth Juhnke and Aimee Adams.
 
Rounding out the selections were 2020 Player of the Year Melanie Brecka of Kansas City, North Dakota State's Kelley Johnson and Oral Roberts' Sarah Thiessen.
 
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions.
 
Nominations are brought forth by sports information directors from the league's seven institutions that carry volleyball, and voting is conducted by both the SIDs and facility athletic representatives (FARs). The team is made up of the six student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
