SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha junior forward Hugo Kametani and Kansas City defender Alexander Glynn were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, league officials announced Monday.
Kametani scored a pair of goals against league-leading Oral Roberts last week in what saw the Mavericks end game one in a 1-1 draw and game two with a 2-1 overtime victory. In game one, Kametani scored the equalizer in the 81
st minute to force overtime. In game two, the Kashima, Japan native netted the golden goal in the 93
rd minute to capture the win against the Golden Eagles. Kametani finished the weekend with five shots and three on goal.
Glynn played 253 minutes in the three-match weekend, including all 180 minutes in the weekend sweep against Western Illinois. The Overland Park, Kan., native played a critical role as the Roo defense allowed just two shots on goal and one goal allowed.
