FARGO, N.D. --  South Dakota State's Jocelyn Carrillo belted a pair of home runs and Grace Glanzer tossed a shutout to lead the top-seeded Jackrabbits into the title game of the 2021 #SummitSB Championship presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare. SDSU blanked Kansas City 7-0 in the elimination game Friday at the Ellig Sports Complex to set up a matchup of the top two seeds in Saturday's championship game.

Carrillo, who is now 2-for-3 in all three games for the Jackrabbits in the tournament, hit a three-run homer in the first to put her squad on the scoreboard, then added a two-run shot to cap the scoring in the fifth. 

In between those two blasts, the Jackrabbits tallied a run in the third when Caelyn Christiancy stole home and got one more in the fourth when Lindsey Culver added her ninth home run of the season.

In the circle, Grace Glanzer scattered eight hits and pitched out of numerous jams to keep the Roos from crossing home plate. Double plays ended threats in the first and fourth innings and she worked out a two-out, bases loaded jam in the fifth. She bounced back after losing the opening game on Friday to these same Roos.

Glanzer logged her sixth shutout of the season to put the Jackrabbits in their first title game since 2018 and just second in program history.

Notable Notes
• Jocelyn Carrillo is now 6-for-9 in the tournament with three home runs and six RBI. She was the first player to hit two home runs in a tournament game since IUPUI's Mandy Dallas achieved the feat on May 11, 2017 and 15th overall. 
•  This will be SDSU's first title game appearance since 2018 and just second overall.
•  Glanzer's shutout was her sixth of the season.  
•  The shutout was SDSU's 14th of the second and their second straight shutout.

Top-seeded South Dakota State will play second-seeded Omaha in the #SummitSB Championship title game on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT. The Jackrabbits will have to beat the Mavericks twice on Saturday to win the title, while a win by Omaha in game one would give the program its first championship title.
