SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Summit League officials announced Thursday that more than 1,500 student-athletes have received Summit League Academic Honor Roll accolades. The list includes students from all nine member institutions and four associate members competing in 17 different sports.
Qualifications
- Student-athletes must have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average (GPA), on a 4.0 scale, for the year awarded.
- Student-athletes must have used a season of competition (a year of athletic eligibility) in the sport in which he/she is nominated.
By The Numbers
- A total of 1,560 student-athletes across 17 sports were honored.
- South Dakota State earned the distinction for total student-athletes selected with 218, while South Dakota (206) and Omaha (199) were second and third, respectively.
- The Jackrabbits paced the league in total number of honorees as well, which includes duplicates for cross country and track & field with 232.
NOTE: “Selection” means the total number of student-athletes each university garnered; it does not account for duplicated student-athletes on the list.
