SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The action just keeps getting better. We have five teams headed into the week looking to extend their current win streaks with Kansas City pacing the way with eight consecutive victories.
The upcoming week’s competition features another pair of matchups against nationally-ranked opponents as St. Thomas heads to No. 11 Minnesota on Thursday and South Dakota meets No. 17 Creighton on Saturday.
The first serve of the weekend goes up Thursday at 6:30 p.m. CT as Kansas City faces Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.

- Kansas City, Denver, North Dakota State, and South Dakota all went undefeated in their respective tournaments over the weekend.
- Kansas City is riding an eight-match win streak after going 3-0 at the SEMO Invitational defeating Arkansas State (3-2), Marshall (3-0) and Memphis (3-2). De’Janae Arnold paced the Roos tallying 37 kills, 2.85 kills per set and a .453 hitting percentage during the tournament en route to SEMO Invitational MVP honors.
- Defensively, Maddie Renn was named to the all-tournament team after recorded 63 digs for 4.85 digs per set average in the three matches. She also dished out 13 assists and four service aces.
- South Dakota went 3-0 as host of the South Dakota Classic. The Coyotes defeated Bradley (3-0), Central Arkansas (3-0) and Milwaukee (3-2).
- Madison Harms was an all-around force to be reckoned with during the classic earning MVP honors. She tallied 33 kills and an impressive .464 hitting percentage over the three matches. On the defensive end, she had at least five blocks in the three matches finishing with 17 total blocks for 1.54 blocks per set average.
- In the five-set thriller against Milwaukee, Harms recorded a career-high 15 kills, a .440 hitting percentage and seven total blocks.
- North Dakota State posted a 3-0 record at the Cal Tournament defeating Cal (3-1), Nevada (3-1) and Butler (3-0). The victory over Butler was NDSU’s first win over a Power 5 opponent since 2010.
- Ali Hinze paced the offensive effort recording a team-best 44 total kills and 3.67 kills per set in three matches. She notched a season-high 20 kills and 11 digs in the win over Butler and followed that up with 13 kills and 11 digs in the victory over Cal.
- Michelle Glover led the defense for the Bison totaling a team-high 15 total blocks during the tournament en route to MVP accolades. She also posted 34 total kills and a .433 clip on the weekend.
- Denver is riding a four-match win streak after defeating Air Force (3-1) and Cal State Fullerton (3-0). Erica Andrich led the Pioneers posting double-figure kills in each match. She finished with 21 kills and a .354 hitting percentage in the two matches.
- South Dakota State went 2-1 at the Blue and Gold Tournament dropping a tough five-set loss to host Toledo but bouncing back and beat Youngstown State (3-2) and Valparaiso (3-0). Crystal Burk led the effort accumulating 57 kills, 4.38 kills per set and a .271 hitting percentage in three matches. She put together two double-double performances and tallied a season-high 23 kills and 20 digs in the five sets with Youngstown State.
- Western Illinois picked up its first win of the season at the Colonel Challenge where the Leathernecks defeated host Eastern Kentucky in five sets. Kennedy Davis earned her third consecutive all-tournament honor after recording 45 kills, a .379 hitting percentage, four service aces and 10 digs in three matches.
- North Dakota, Omaha, Oral Roberts and St. Thomas all went without a win over the weekend. North Dakota fell to Drake and Montana in three sets but was able to take two sets from Green Bay.
- Omaha went to the Bluejay Invitational and dropped matches to Illinois (3-1), SMU (3-2) and invitational host #19 Creighton (3-0).
- Oral Roberts competed in the Tulsa Invitational where the Golden Eagles were swept by Arkansas and Stephen F. Austin but were able to take a set from host Tulsa before falling 3-1.
- St. Thomas went to the Stony Brook Invitational and fell 3-0 to Yale, Tarleton State and Stony Brook.
