SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Eastern Illinois duo of Jonathan Burke and Brennan Rzewuski swept the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards, announced by league officials Monday. Burke collected his third career defensive honor, while Rzewuski secure the offensive accolade, which was the second weekly honor of his career.
 
After starting the season with five straight losses, the Panthers picked up their first point of the season thanks to a 1-1 draw with Green Bay this past Tuesday. Against the Phoenix, Burke made three first-half saves and Rzewuski produced the game-tying goal in the 66^th minute.
 
In EIU's Summit League opener Saturday vs. St. Thomas, Burke helped a 35^th-minute goal by Julian Smith stand up by delivering four saves to record his first shutout of the season. Burke combined for seven saves in the 1-0-1 week.
 
This marks the first time since 2015 that the Panthers swept the weekly men's soccer awards.
