SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A pair of first-time winners earned the latest Ticket Smarter Summit League Men’s Soccer Player of the Week awards, league officials announced Tuesday. Oral Roberts freshman Felipe D’Agostini garnered the offensive award, while Denver graduate student William DeSantis secured the defensive honor.
D’Agostini made his first collegiate goal a memorable one as his 86
th-minute tally provided the winning margin for the Golden Eagles in a 2-1 victory over Northern Kentucky. The Brazil native sent a one-timer off a corner kick past the Norse goalkeeper to give Giovanni Herrera his second assist of the match.
DeSantis picked up his first shutout of his DU career by making a pair of saves in a 1-0 victory over Portland. The Salt Lake City native then made four stops in a 1-1 draw with No. 9 SMU in a match that saw the Mustangs take 21 total shots.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
