ORU's Anderson, KC's Kacich garner TicketSmarter #SummitMSOC weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –Oral Roberts midfielder Shane Anderson and Kansas City defender Seth Kacich garnered the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s Soccer Peak Performer of the Week awards. Anderson collected his second offensive accolade of the season, while Kacich earned the first defensive honor of his career, league officials announced Monday.

Anderson, who is the first dual-recipient of the season on the offensive side, matched a Summit League single-match high with five points in Oral Roberts’ 6-1 victory over Eastern Illinois. He tallied his third goal of the season, then assisted on three others in what matched the highest-scoring output by a league team this season.

Anderson’s three assists were a career-high and are tied for the second most in a NCAA Division I match this season. His three helpers also doubled his season output and pushed him into the league-lead in that category with six.

Kacich anchored a Roos’ back line that surrendered just two shots on goal, which equaled the fewest (8/12) Denver put on frame in a match this season. The senior blocked multiple shots during the match, helping Kansas City secure a 1-1 draw in a showdown of what were the top two teams in the league standings.

After the Roos squared the match late in the first half, Kacich and company did not allow a shot on goal to the Pioneers in the closing 45 minutes.
