SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha and Southern Indiana opened their respective season’s last weekend and collected TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s and Women’s Peak Swimmers and Divers of the Week honors. The Mavericks’ Grant Waszak and Payton Easley notched the Men’s and Women’s Peak Swimmers of the Week, respectively, while Darby Drake earned the Women’s Peak Diver of the Week. Additionally, Screaming Eagles freshman Lane Pollock was tabbed as the Men’s Peak Diver of the Week, league officials announced on Tuesday.
Waszak and the Mavericks opened their season against St. Cloud State as the Elkorn, Neb., native posted a pair of second-place individual finishes. Waszak posted a time of 21.40 in the 50 freestyle and 47.58 in the 100 freestyle. Additionally, Waszak was part of a 200 Free Relay team that recorded a time of 1:24.82, good enough for second place.
Easley guided Omaha to a win over the Huskies with a final score of 144.5-93.5. The Lee’s Summit, Mo., native placed first in both the 100 freestyle (53.06) and 50 freestyle (24.35).
Pollock and Southern Indiana competed in its first official meet against Valparaiso in which the freshman diver posted a score of 264.75 in the 1-meter dive, which bested his score from the USI Red and Blue exhibition meet last month. The Boonville, Ind., native also scored a 231.07 in the 3-meter dive.
Drake competed against a field of five other divers, including three from St. Cloud State in the 1-meter dive, and placed first in the 1-meter with a score of 251.03 earning nine points for the Mavericks.

Men’s Peak Swimmer of the Week
