SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –Oral Roberts midfielder Felipe D’Agostini and Denver defender Trevor Wright both claimed their second TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s Soccer Peak Performer of the Week awards of the season, league officials announced Monday.
For D’Agostini, the offense awards come in back-to-back weeks as he scored twice, including his league-leading fourth game winner of the season, in the Golden Eagles’ 8-0 defeat of Western Illinois that pushed their league-win streak to six straight. He opened the scoring on a penalty kick in the 23
rd minute.
It was the first brace of D’Agostini’s ORU career as he equaled the league lead with his fifth and sixth goals of the season. All six of those goals have come in Summit League action.
Wright earned his second defensive nod of the season after collecting the opening honor back on Aug. 29. He anchored a back line that surrendered only four first-half shots in a 3-0 victory at Eastern Illinois.
The shutout was the fifth of the league season for the Pioneers, who have yielded only one goal to a league foe in six matches. Wright was also credited with an assist on DU’s second goal of the match.
