Omaha’s White, Meyer sweep TicketSmarter #SummitSB weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha senior third basemen Jamie White and junior pitcher Kamryn Meyer garnered the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Player and Pitcher of the Week accolades, respectively, league officials announced on Monday.
 
White had an impressive performance at the plate in four games, hitting .467 (7-for-15) with nine RBI, two home runs, a double and two walks. The Choctaw, Okla., native helped the Mavericks go 4-0 on the week, picking up a non-conference road victory against Creighton where she recorded a hit with an RBI, scored a run and a walk as well as sweeping South Dakota on the road.
 
Against the Coyotes, White finished with six hits, drove in eight RBI and scored four runs. In game one of the series, she registered two hits, including a home run with three RBI. In game two, White hit her second home run of the series driving in a pair of runs. In the series finale, she tallied three hits and three RBI while scoring two runs. In total, White had a .467 batting average, a .933 slugging percentage and a .529 on-base percentage.
 
Meyer was dominant in the circle, posting a pair of wins and a save in four appearances. The Wilton, Iowa native opened her week against Creighton, where she threw three innings and struck out six batters on one hit and one run. In the opening game at South Dakota, Meyer surpassed her career-high and broke her own program record for the second weekend in a row with 19 strikeouts. She pitched a complete-game and walked two batters for the win.
 
In game two, Meyer closed out the final three innings for her second save of the season as she struck out six more and surrendered just one hit. In the series finale, she posted her 11th game with double-figure strikeouts, sitting down 13 Coyotes in six innings for her 16th win of the season. Meyer became the program’s Division I leader in single-season strikeouts and is just 39 away from being the program’s all-time single-season leader.
