SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A pair of Oral Roberts' guards collected the December TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performer of the Month honors with Hannah Cooper claiming the female accolade and Max Abmas earning his fifth career male honor, League officials announced Friday.
Cooper averaged 21.6 ppg, 4.6 apg, 4.1 rpg and 2.6 spg in seven December contests for the Golden Eagles. The El Paso, Texas, native played 274 of the possible 280 minutes, reaching double-figures each time out.
Cooper tallied 20-plus points four times, including a 30-point performance at Texas Tech and had at least three assists in every game. She finished with 26 points and a career-high nine assists in an 87-81 victory over Abilene Christian.
In League play, the senior averaged 20.0 ppg in four contests and at the foul line, went 45-50, making her final 32 free throws to close the month. Cooper was twice named the TicketSmarter Peak Performer of the Week during December.
Abmas averaged a League-best 23.6 ppg and reached 20-plus points five times as he led the Golden Eagles to a 7-0 record in December. He opened the month by scoring 27.0 ppg in four consecutive non-conference wins over Tulsa (28), Central Arkansas (31), Liberty (26) and Missouri State (23).
The Rockwall, Texas native scored a season-high 32 points in a road win at Omaha where he made a career-high 15 free throws. He shot 45.5 percent from the floor and made a League-high 27 3-pointers in those seven victories.
Abmas also averaged 3.7 apg in December, posting a season-high six in the League-opener vs. South Dakota State and topping that with seven the next time out against the Mavericks. His fifth career monthly honor is the third most all-time by a Summit League male student-athlete. He had three during the 2020-21 season and one a season ago.
