Denver garners TicketSmarter #SummitSD weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.For the second time this season, it’s a Denver sweep of the TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Swimmers and Divers of the Week accolades, League officials announced on Tuesday.
 
Marco Nosack and Natalie Arky earned the Peak Swimmers of the Week honor while Zyad Morsy and Olivia Gordon were named Peak Divers of the Week as Denver competed in two meets last week.
 
Nosack, the reigning Summit League Men’s Swimmer of the Year, helped lead Denver to its first double win at Wyoming in program history. The Beaverton, Ore., first competed against BYU in which the sophomore placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 1:05.66. He captured a third place showing in the 100 freestyle (46.40) and helped the 400 Free Relay team to a runner-up finish (3:01.82). Against Wyoming, Nosack finished first in the 200 IM (1:53.99) and second in the 100 breaststroke (56.69), 200 breaststroke (2:04.30) and 400 Free Relay (3:04.72).
 
Arky won four events against BYU and Wyoming, starting with the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:42.97 and followed that up with a winning performance in the 100 backstroke (54.53) against the Cougars. Against Wyoming, the Highlands Ranch, Colo., native won the 100 (56.62) and 200 backstroke (2:03.39) as well as placing second in the 200 Medley Relay (1:45.27).
 
Morsy earned a quartet of NCAA Zone Cut scores across two meets, as the Cairo, Egypt native won the 1-meter against BYU with score of 317.25 and captured the 3-meter title with a personal best score of 355.43. Against the Cowboys, Morsy won the 3-meter with a score of 335.70 and placed second in the 1-meter with a score of 320.93. His 355.43 3-meter score places him atop the League standings this season while his 1-meter score of 320.93 sits him second in the league.
 
Gordon led the Pioneers by capturing a first place NCAA Zone Cut score in the 1-meter (266.78) against BYU. The Las Vegas, Nev., native finished third in the same meet in the 3-meter with a score of 251.48. Against Wyoming, Gordon won the 1-meter crown with a personal best NCAA Zone Cut score of 280.28. Additionally, Gordon placed second in the 3-meter with a score of 272.18 in the same meet.
