KC’s Middleton, Omaha’s Sallah garner TicketSmarter #SummitMSOC weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Kansas City’s Brice Middleton and Omaha’s Nathanael Sallah earned the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s Soccer Peak Performer of the Week awards. Middleton claimed the offensive honor, while Sallah captured the defensive honor, league officials announced Monday.

Middleton, who is the first freshman to earn the offensive honor this season, scored a goal in both of Kansas City’s matches last week. The Overland Park, Kan., native notched the equalizer in an eventual 2-1 victory over Creighton. His goal against the Bluejays in the 64th minute was the first of his collegiate career.

Middleton cut Kansas City’s deficit at UC Santa Barbara to 3-2 when he scored in the 80th minute. In those two matches, Middleton put all of five of his shots on frame.

Sallah has now earned a weekly defensive honor in each of the last three seasons. In just his third start of the season, the Hamburg, Germany native made a season-high five saves in a 1-0 victory over UTRGV.

Sallah made three saves in the first half, then added two more after halftime to preserve Omaha's second consecutive shutout.
