SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas forward Faris Colic and goalkeeper Moritz Krenc swept the latest Summit League Men’s Soccer Peak Performer of the Week awards, league officials announced Monday. The weekly honors are the first for both players and first for the Tommies this season, who snapped a six-match losing streak.
Colic logged his second brace of the season in the Tommies’ 2-1 road win at (RV/22) Kansas City. The senior from Bosnia and Herzegovina opened the scoring in the 19
th minute when he cleaned up a loose ball in the box following corner kick.
The senior provided the game-winner from the penalty spot in the 71
st minute and had two other shots on goal in what was UST’s first win over a ranked opponent at the Division I level.
Krenc made six saves in a match that saw Kansas City outshoot the Tommies 15-10 with seven of those coming on frame for the home team. The German native leads all Summit goalkeepers with 70 saves, including 32 in five league contests.
The sophomore’s final save came in the 77
th minute as the Roos were dealt their first loss in five league matches.
