UNO, USD, DU notch TicketSmarter #SummitSD weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.Omaha, South Dakota and Denver collected the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Swimmers and Divers of the Week, league officials announced on Tuesday.
 
On the swimming side, Mason Schroeder of Omaha received his second Peak Swimmer of the Week award, while South Dakota’s Gabbie Ahrendt earned her first career Peak Swimmer of the Week award.
 
Denver swept the diving awards as Zyad Morsy and Olivia Gordon both collected their seventh career Peak Diver of the Week accolades.

Men’s Peak Swimmer of the Week
Mason Schroeder, Omaha
So. | Lincoln, Neb.
  • Placed first in 200-IM (1:54.33), 200 free (1:43.25) and 200 back (1:50.59) at the Coyote Invite
  • Registered as a top-16 student-athlete good enough to qualify for the CSCAA National Invitational Championship
  • This is the second career peak performer honor for Schroeder

Women’s Peak Swimmer of the Week
Gabbie Ahrendt South Dakota

  • Contributed five top-nine finishes at the Coyote Invitational
  • Won the 500 free in 5:07.09 for her second individual race win, placed second in the 100 fly (27.77) and eighth in the 100 free (53.39)
  • Swam on a fourth-place 200 free relay (4th leg, 23.71) and contributed a 23.96 anchor split in the 200 medley relay
  • This is the first career peak performer award for Ahrendt

  • Won the men's platform prelims with an NCAA Zone Cut score of 377.85
  • Earned a 336.75 to take fourth (another NCAA Zone Cut) in the finals in a 30-diver field
  • Finished sixth in the 1-meter prelims with an NCAA Zone Cut score of 316.95 and took third in the men's 1-meter finals with an NCAA Zone Cut score of 370.55 in a 28-diver field
  • Finished 23rd in the men's 3-meter with a score of 242.50
  • This is the seventh peak diver of the week honor of his career

  • Won the preliminary session of the 1-meter dive with an NCAA Zone Cut score of 268.45
  • Finished third in the 39-diver field with an NCAA Zone Cut score of 273.40 in the finals
  • Won the preliminary session of the 3-meter with a 263.85 and finished fifth in the 38-diver field with a 258.90
  • This is the seventh career peak diver of the week award of her career
