SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha’s Sydney Thomason and Kansas City’s Camryn Stickel captured the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performer of the Pitcher of the Week nods, respectively, League officials announced Monday.
Thomason helped the Mavericks extend their winning streak to 10 games with a win against Northern Colorado and Rider, along with a three-game road sweep of Purdue. The Ripon, Calif., native went 6-for-17 with a .353 batting average, a 1.000 slugging percentage, three home runs, two doubles, four runs and eight RBI.
The junior infielder hit a home run in back-to-back games against the Boilermakers and is tied of the league lead with seven home runs. Thomason recorded at least one hit in all five games and drove in a trio of runs in the series finale against Purdue.
Stickel notched a 0.00 ERA in three games last week where she pitched 12.1 innings allowing five hits and no runs with 10 strikeouts. The Raymore, Mo., native held batters to a .119 batting average and notched her first career saves against Western Illinois and SIUE.
In the first game against SIUE, Stickel earned her fourth win of the season with a complete-game seven inning shutout where she struck out seven batters.
