SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota's Cassie Castaneda, St. Thomas' Kaitlyn Raymond and Omaha's Kamryn Meyer captured the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performer of the Pitcher of the Week accolades, respectively, league officials announced Monday.
Castaneda went 6-for-9 (.667) with two RBI, three walks and three runs scored to help the Fighting Hawks sweep North Dakota State in a three-game series for the first time in program history. The Tucson, Ariz., native recorded a .667 slugging percentage and a .692 on-base percentage.
The graduate student batted .714 in a three-game home sweep against the Bison and scored the lone run in the second game of the series.
Raymond slashed .667/.667/1.000 in the Tommies' series sweep against South Dakota. The Chicago, Ill., native led UST with six hits, four runs and three stolen bases. Raymond added one double, one triple and an RBI.
Meyer garnered two complete-game shutout victories against Kansas City and recorded her 19
th and 20
th wins of the season. The Wilton, Iowa native threw eight innings with six strikeouts and three hits allowed in the series opener.
She opened game three with 10 straight strikeouts and totaled 13 strikeouts in seven innings of work.
