SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State’s Emma Osmundson and Shannon Lasey, along with Omaha’s Kamryn Meyer received the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performer of the Pitcher of the Week honors, league officials announced Monday.
Osmundson went 5-for-9 (.556) with nine RBI, one home run, one double and one triple in three wins last week. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native recorded a 1.22 slugging percentage and a .636 on-base percentage.
The senior right fielder went 2-for-4 at the plate with a three-run triple and an RBI double against Minnesota. She then went 3-for-5 combined in a doubleheader sweep of St. Thomas. Across the two-game set, Osmundson scored three runs, hit a three-run home run and drove in five RBI.
Meyer helped the Mavericks sweep North Dakota by going 10.2 innings with one run allowed and 16 strikeouts. The Wilton, Iowa native pitched the first 3.2 innings in game one where she allowed no hits on six strikeouts. She followed up that performance with a complete-game shutout in game three with 10 strikeouts and no runs allowed.
Lasey recorded two complete-game shutout victories over the course of the past week. The Dover, Ark., native went all seven innings in SDSU's 7-0 mid-week victory over Minnesota. She then put together a solid five-inning performance in an 8-0 run-rule win against St. Thomas.
In each start Lasey gave up just four hits. She struck out a combined seven hitters between the two games.
