SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State’s Brooke Dumont and Tori Kniesche swept the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Peak Performer of the Pitcher of the Week awards, respectively, League officials announced Monday.
Dumont went 6-for-9 (.667) with a home run, two doubles, one run scored and seven RBI in a three-game home sweep over Kansas City. The Papillion, Neb., native registered her first career three-hit performance when she went 3-for-4 in game one as she drove in a pair of runs.
In game two, Dumont went 2-for-2 with a home run, one walk and two RBI. The series finale saw her go 1-for-3 with a double. In total, Dumont earned a 1.222 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base percentage.
Kniesche produced two complete-game performances in a pair of home victories over Kansas City. The senior stuck out 10 batters on three hits and walked one while giving up one run in the series opener.
In a five-inning 11-1 win, Kniesche allowed one unearned run while giving up four hits and struck out eight batters in game three. The Wayne, Neb., native moves to 12-5 on the season and remains unbeaten (5-0) in league play.
