DU, UST, SDSU corral latest Kwik Star #SummitSD peak performer honors

Denver, St. Thomas, South Dakota State honored in latest weekly awards

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver, St. Thomas and South Dakota State were all represented in the latest Kwik Star Summit League Swimming and Diving weekly honors League officials released Tuesday.
 
This week’s award extends Denver diver Zyad Morsy’s league record to 14 career weekly accolades while fellow Pio, swimmer Sabrina Rachjaibun, captured her second career honor. It was St. Thomas diver Hattie Opdahl’s second career award while South Dakota State swimmer Zavier Kranz earned his first.

MEN’S PEAK SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Zavier Kranz, South Dakota State

  • Collected his first career weekly award
  • Won three individual races in a pair of duals against St. Cloud State and South Dakota
  • Claimed the 100 free in both duals, clocking winning times of 46.30 (SCSU) and 46.62 (USD)
  • Won the 200 free in a time of 1:42.53 against USD
  • Swam the anchor leg of the 400 free relay, which posted a pool-record time of 3:05.90 to seal the Jackrabbits' dual victory over USD
  • Took third in the 200 free (1:43.62) and runner-up in the 400 medley relay (3:26.17) against SCSU

MEN’S PEAK DIVER OF THE WEEK

  • Received a league-record-extending 14th career weekly honor, seventh of the season
  • Competed in a deep Cal Diving Invite, qualifying for the finals in both events he competed in
  • Finished seventh in the prelims (307.85) and sixth in the 1-meter finals (322.40) with a pair of NCAA Zone Cuts
  • Took 11th in prelims (312.55) and improved to eighth in the finals (334.40) in the 3-meter, earning an NCAA Zone Cut in his final performance of the weekend

  • Collected her second career weekly accolade, first of the season
  • Claimed three individual event titles in duals against Utah and BYU
  • Won the 200 fly in both duals with winning times of 2:06.15 (Utah) and a season-best 2:01.83 (BYU)
  • Captured the 500 free against BYU with a time of 4:59.54
  • Finished runner-up in the 500 free against Utah with a time of 5:07.39

  • Earned her second career weekly award, second of the season
  • Swept both 1-meter and 3-meter competitions to help lead UST to dual wins over Augustana and Sioux Falls
  • Won the 1-meter with a season-best six-dive score of 260.70
  • Captured the 3-meter with a six-dive score of 256.13
