EIU, UNO, USD represented in latest Kwik Star #SummitSD weekly awards

Eastern Illinois, Omaha, South Dakota honored in this week’s peak performers

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Eastern Illinois, Omaha and South Dakota picked up this week’s Kwik Star Summit League Swimming and Diving weekly awards League officials announced Tuesday.
 
For the men, the latest awards mark the first career weekly award for South Dakota swimmer Jack Berdahl and the second for Omaha diver Owen Kipp. On the women’s side, it was the second career honor for Eastern Illinois swimmer Corinne Staneart and Maverick diver Bella Price.

MEN’S PEAK SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Jack Berdahl, South Dakota
Sr | Breast/Free | Littleton, Colo.
  • Collected his first career weekly award
  • Captured six event wins in two different duals against Omaha and St. Thomas
  • In the dual against Omaha was a member of the school record-breaking 400 medley relay quartet that won in a 400 short course meter time of 3:46.03
  • Individually, won the 100 breast with a school record SC meter time of 1:04.11
  • Won 200 breast in a SC meter time of 2:27.56
  • Against St. Thomas, was a member of the winning 200 medley relay with a short course meter time of 1:42.69
  • Won the 50 breast with a time of 29.53

MEN’S PEAK DIVER OF THE WEEK
Owen Kipp, Omaha
Fr | Dive | Eagan, Minn.
  • Earned his second career weekly honor, second of the season
  • Won both diving events he competed in at the dual with South Dakota
  • Collected the 1-meter dive title with a score of 300.08
  • Captured the 3-meter dive with a dive score of 284.55

WOMEN’S PEAK SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Corinne Staneart, Eastern Illinois
Sr | Breast/Fly | Toledo, Ohio
  • Collected her second career weekly accolade, first of the season
  • Posted a pair of first-place finishes in the dual at Southern Indiana
  • Recorded the fastest 100 IM time in the league touching the wall in 57.70
  • Broke the EIU record in the 100 IM with her winning time
  • Won the 50 fly with a time of 25.55, which ranks fourth best in the league this season

WOMEN’S PEAK DIVER OF THE WEEK
Bella Price, Omaha
Jr | Dive | Minot, N.D.
  • Received her second career weekly award, second of the season
  • Won both diving events she participated in the dual at South Dakota
  • Won the 1-meter with a dive score of 246.08
  • Captured the 3-meter dive with a final score of 249.00
