SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State clinched the 2025 Summit League regular season volleyball title after defeating North Dakota State and St. Thomas last weekend. The Jackrabbits (20-3, 14-0 SL) remain unbeaten in league play with two matches left to close out the regular season.
Four additional teams have already secured their spots in the 2025 Summit League Volleyball Championship. South Dakota (18-8, 10-4 SL) holds second place in the standings, while St. Thomas (16-8, 9-4 SL) sits just one game behind in third. The Tommies’ volleyball team will be making its first Summit League postseason appearance after completing a four-year transition to the Division I level.
North Dakota State (14-9, 8-5 SL) tightened the race for the top four with a key victory over North Dakota. The Bison are one game behind the Tommies and one game ahead of Denver (15-10, 7-7 SL), who follows in fifth. The Pioneers maintain a 2.5-game edge over the rest of the field. With three matches remaining, plenty of movement is possible on the remaining five seed lines.
Omaha (8-14, 5-8 SL) earned a critical win over Denver last week and now faces North Dakota, North Dakota State, and Kansas City to close out the regular season.
North Dakota (7-17, 4-9 SL) sits just behind the Mavericks in seventh and will look to close the gap when the two programs meet Thursday night in a pivotal matchup for both teams.
Kansas City (3-23, 2-11 SL) currently sits in eighth place with challenging contests ahead against South Dakota State, Denver, and Omaha to conclude its season. Oral Roberts (3-22, 1-12 SL) picked up its first league win of the season against the Roos and will finish out the schedule facing Denver, South Dakota, and St. Thomas.
As the regular season winds down, this final week of play will determine the seeds and final berth in the Championship field. Tickets for the 2025 Summit League Volleyball Championship are on sale now. All the action begins Thursday at 7 p.m. CT on the Summit League Network.
