Coyotes, Pioneers, Mavericks collect Kwik Star #SummitSD peak performer honors

South Dakota swimmer, Denver swimmer, Omaha diving duo deemed peak performers

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Omaha duo of Nathan Frette and Bella Price, South Dakota’s Nick Rounds, and Denver’s Julia Saxman garnered the latest Summit League Kwik Star Swimming and Diving Peak Performer of the Week awards, League officials released Tuesday. Rounds and Frette earned the men’s swimmer and diver accolades, while Saxman and Price collected the women’s swimmer and diver awards, respectively.
 
This week’s men’s honors mark the third career award for Rounds and the first for Frette. On the women’s side, Saxman collected the first weekly accolade of her career, while Price earned her fourth.

Rounds led the Yotes to a team win at the USD Invite with first-place finishes in the 100 fly, 100 back and 50 free, while also contributing to second-place marks in three relay events. Frette swept the diving events in a dual against Missouri State, taking the top spot in both the 1-meter (336.90) and 3-meter (339.95).
 
On the women’s side, Saxman notched the sixth-fastest 200 fly time in Denver program history (2:00.44) while also winning the 100 fly, 200 medley relay and 200 fly in road duals at Washington State and Idaho. Price paced the Mavericks in diving, winning the 3-meter event with 277.10 points and finishing fourth in the 1-meter with 238.60 points.

  • Recorded a 200 fly time of 2:00.44 on Saturday to claim the sixth-fastest time in the program's history 
  • Earned victories in the 100 fly, 200 medley relay, and 200 fly in road dual meets against Washington State and Idaho.
  • Collected her first career weekly award
