KC's Outman, DU's Lund claim final Kwik Star #SummitMSOC weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver defender Grant Lund and Kansas City midfielder Bryce Outman garnered the final Kwik Star Summit League Men’s Soccer Peak Performer of the Week accolades of the season, league officials announced Tuesday. Both student-athletes earned the first weekly honors of their respective careers.

Lund and Outman were both instrumental in 1-0-1 weeks for their respective sides as both Denver and Kansas City earned a share of the Summit League regular season title.

Lund headed home a corner kick for his first career goal in a 2-0 win over Oral Roberts and was part of a back line that surrendered just three shots on goal in two matches. The redshirt freshman held the Tommies without a shot on goal after UST went up early in the 10th minute, helping DU hold that deficit in check until the Pioneers’ netted the equalizer in the 86th minute to earn a 1-1 draw.

Denver has now won 11 regular season title in 13 tries since 2013.

Outman assisted on the equalizer in KC’s 3-2 come-from-behind win UMass and also spearheaded a Roos’ comeback in a 3-3 draw with Delaware by scoring in the 71st minute with Kansas City trailing 2-0. The freshman’s spark in KC’s rally vs. the Blue Hens ultimately led them to share of their first regular season title with the Pioneers since 2010.
