SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Five Summit League women’s soccer student-athletes represented three member institutions on the United Soccer Coaches (USC) All-West Region Teams announced by the organization on Friday.
Denver’s Hannah Tate earned first team honors, while teammates Isabella Chidiac and Emma Thielbahr were tabbed as second and third team selections, respectively. South Dakota State’s Lauren Eckerle also landed on the second team after a stellar year with South Dakota newcomer Klarissa Vega earning third-team recognition.
Tate, the 2025 Summit League Midfielder of the Year, earned All-Summit League honors for the second year in a row this past season. She ended year with two goals – both game winners – and an assist, all coming in Summit League play. Her 87
th-minute game winner against South Dakota in the regular-season finale completed Denver's 2-1 comeback win and secured a share of the Summit League regular-season title for the Pioneers. She saw the full 90 minutes in all but one of the 15 matches she played in 2025.
Chidiac finished the regular season tied for No. 17 nationally in total assists on the season with nine, tying atop the Summit League standings and earning All-Summit League first-team honors. During her breakout campaign in 2025, she netted her first collegiate goal against Kansas City, giving her 11 points on the year – all her first as a collegiate player. For the first time in her career, she played in every match of the season and did so after making starts in all 18. In total, she played nearly 1300 minutes, nearly 1000 more than her previous career best for a single season.
Thielbahr, the 2025 Summit League Defensive Player of the Year, joined Tate and Chidiac in collecting All-Summit League first-team recognition after leading the team with four goals – two of them game winners. She posted her first career brace against then-No. 25 Colorado State in a 2-1 come-from-behind win for Denver in September. Two weeks later, she scored her second game winner of the season, this time in a comeback win at North Dakota State. For the second year in a row, she started in every match for Denver and played the full 90 minutes in all but one match.
A senior defender, Eckerle led the Jackrabbits in minutes played (1,770) while starting all 21 matches she appeared in. The Hugo, Minn., native finished the year with career highs in assists (6), points (8), shots (11) and shots on goal (11). Eckerle paced SDSU's back line that helped the Jackrabbits lead The Summit League in goals-against average (.682) and finish 23rd nationally.
Eckerle was previously selected as a First Team All-Summit League performer and helped lead the Jackrabbits to their third consecutive conference tournament title. For her efforts, Eckerle was honored as the Tournament MVP and an All-Tournament recipient.
Rounding out the selections, Vega's first collegiate season was nothing short of exceptional. The freshman standout led the Coyotes in total goals, led the team in points, and finished tied for second in assists, establishing herself as the driving force of the Coyotes attack.
