DU, UNO collect this week’s Kwik Star #SummitSD peak performer honors

Denver, Omaha named the latest swimming and diving peak performers

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver and Omaha share the latest Kwik Star Summit League Swimming and Diving weekly accolades league officials released Tuesday.
 
On the men’s side, this week’s awards mark the second for Denver swimmer Frank Tirone and the third for Omaha diver Own Kipp. For the women, it is the third weekly accolade for Denver swimmer Ines Marin and Omaha diver Bella Price.

MEN’S PEAK SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Frank Tirone, Denver
Sr | Sprint Free | Oak Park, Ill.
  • Collected his second career weekly award, second this season
  • At Air Force, won the 50 free title after advancing to the finals and clocking a league-leading time of 20.13 seconds
  • Finished first in the 50 free prelims with a time of 20.43
  • Tied the 50 free semifinals with teammate Hamish McLellan with a time of 20.60
  • Swam the leadoff leg of DU’s victorious 200 free relay that took the event in a time of 1:20.83

MEN’S PEAK DIVER OF THE WEEK
Owen Kipp, Omaha
Fr | Dive | Eagan, Minn.
  • Earned his third career weekly honor, third of the season
  • Helped Omaha win the springboard team event at the Omaha Dive Invite with a score of 301.65
  • Won the men’s 1-meter dive with an Omaha school record score of 320.60
  • Finished third in the men’s 3-meter dive after putting up a score of 276.45

WOMEN’S PEAK SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Ines Marin, Denver
Gr | Free/Fly | Santiago, Chile
  • Collected her third career weekly accolade, second of the season
  • Against Air Force, won the 200 free after touching the wall in 1:52.38
  • Advanced to the finals of the 50 fly and won the event with a time of 25.23
  • Won the 50 fly prelims and semifinals with times of 25.28 and 25.32

WOMEN’S PEAK DIVER OF THE WEEK
Bella Price, Omaha

  • Received her third career weekly award, third of the season
  • Swept three events at the Omaha Dive Invite
  • Helped guide Omaha to a springboard team event victory with 267.95 points
  • Won the 1-meter with a total score of 262.70
  • Captured the 3-meter dive crown with a score of 261.75
