SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The North Dakota duo of Jadyn Keeler and Kenna Curry alongside Kansas City’s Tory Lanham and South Dakota’s Tre Young were named Summit League Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Year, League officials unveiled Monday. The award recipients were selected by a vote from the League’s head coaches and based on the student-athletes’ respective performances throughout the 2025 outdoor season.
On the women’s side, Keeler, this year’s Women’s Outdoor Track Championship MVP, became the first Fighting Hawk in League history to be named Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year while Curry won the Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year honor for the first time in her career.
On the men’s side, Lanham became the first Roo since Deandree Free in 2002 to be named as the Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year while Young was the second straight Coyote to capture Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year honors.
North Dakota State’s Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Stevie Keller took home his seventh Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year award after guiding the Bison to their 16
th outdoor title in program history.
South Dakota State’s Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Rod DeHaven earned his first Summit League Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year honor after helping the Jackrabbit men win their first outdoor title.
Jadyn Keeler, North Dakota
Junior | Barrie, Ontario, Canada
- Became the first Fighting Hawk to walk away with the Summit League Women’s Track Championship MVP award after totaling 28 points
- Earned her first gold medal at the League Outdoor Championship in the 10,000m after crossing the finish line in a time of 35:32.01
- Also captured the gold medal in the 5,000m with a time of 16:09.70
- Placed second in the 1,500m with a time of 4:24.35
- Owned the League’s top 1,500m, 5,000m and 10,000m times during the outdoor season
- Rewrote the UND outdoor record book in the distance events and now owns the program’s top times in the 1,500m (4:20.03), 5,000m (15:33.59), 10,000m (32:06.70)
- Became the fourth UND student-athlete to qualify for the national meet in the program’s DI era
- Finished 16th at the NCAA Outdoor Championship in the 10,000m, running a 32:59.12 to earn second team All-American accolades
Kenna Curry, North Dakota
Graduate | Elk Point, S.D.
- Became the first Fighting Hawk to be crowned the Women’s Field Championship MVP after she earned 28 points during the Outdoor Championship
- Won the hammer throw title at the League Outdoor Championship with a toss of 223-1” (68.01m)
- Also took gold in the shot put after registering a mark of 51-06.25” (15.70m)
- Placed second in the discus with a toss of 163-7 (49.86m)
- Qualified for the hammer throw at the NCAA Championship with a throw of 208-2” (63.44m) during the NCAA West Preliminary rounds
- Is one of four UND female student-athletes to qualify for the national meet in North Dakota’s DI era
- Finished 7th at the NCAA Outdoor Championship with a hammer throw toss of 223-7 (68.16m), earning first team All-American accolades
- Named Peak Performer of the Week three times during the outdoor season
Tory Lanham, Kansas City
Sophomore | Kansas City, Mo.
- Named the Men’s Outdoor Track Championship Most Outstanding Performer after earning 14.5 points for KC at the League’s Outdoor Championship
- Clocked a 20.83 in the 200-meter dash to capture his second career League outdoor title
- Placed second in the 4x100-meter dash relay at the League Outdoor championship with a time of 40.46
- Earned his third medal of the League Outdoor Championship after running the anchor leg of the 4x400-meter relay and clocking a winning time of 3:12.04
- Ran a season best 20.33 in the 200-meter dash during the NCAA West Preliminary rounds to qualify for the NCAA Championship
- Placed 13th at the NCAA Championship in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.52 to earn Second Team All-American accolades
- Owned the League’s top 200-meter dash time of the outdoor season
Tre Young, South Dakota
Senior | Toledo, Ohio
- Cleared a season best height of 18-0.5” (5.50m) to win the men’s pole vault competition at the Summit League Outdoor Championship
- Finished eleventh at the NCAA West Preliminary round after clearing 17-5.5” (5.32) to qualify for the NCAA Championship
- Placed 18th at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship with a clearance of 17-5.75” (5.33m) to garner honorable mention All-America honors
- Earned Peak Performer accolades two times during the outdoor season
