Mavericks Upset No. 3 LSU

The Mavericks pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year when they took down the highest ranked opponent the team has ever faced with a 5-4 victory in game one against No. 3 LSU. 

Women's Tennis - April 12

Denver women’s tennis streak continues

Denver extended its streak to 64 consecutive league matches won with a 5-2 victory over North Dakota since joining the Summit League in 2014. The victory clinched the 11th straight regular season title for the Pioneers, who also would win their 11th straight tournament title later in the month.

Women’s Tennis - April 18

Omaha comes from behind to secure a spot in the #SummitWTEN championship

Omaha secured a spot in its first Summit League Women’s Tennis Championship match since 2019 after it edged out second-seeded Oral Roberts 4-3. With the semifinal hanging in the balance 3-3, Keegan Vanpelt delivered the decisive victory, overcoming Abby Wise 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 at No. 6 to send Omaha to the championship match.

Women’s Golf - April 22

Pioneers capture sixth straight #SummitWGF title

Denver’s Clara Gestsdottir won her second straight Summit League Championship, helping the Pioneers to the program’s fourth straight title since head coach Martha Richards took over and sixth straight overall.

Baseball - April 22

Golden Eagles defeat No. 14 Sooners 5-3

The Oral Roberts baseball team capped off their nine game road trip by taking down No. 14 Oklahoma on the road 5-3. The Golden Eagles got on the board in the 2nd inning thanks to a Keaton Campbell RBI single driving in Jack Schark and a Matthew Brandt RBI single sending Makani Tanaka home. In the 4th inning Ethan Fender grabbed his 18th RBI of the season on a single scoring Schark to make it a 3-1 ballgame. Cooper Combs drove in Martell Davis and Wailele Kane Yates drove Will Edmuson home to finish the game.

Men’s Tennis - April 28

Pioneers receive highest national ranking heading into NCAA Tournament

After winning its sixth straight regular season title and second straight tournament, Denver men's tennis was ranked No. 61 nationally headed into the NCAA tournament, which was the Pioneers highest ranking of the season.

Men’s Golf - April 29

GoldenEagles capture first #SummitMGF title since 2010

Oral Roberts rallied in the final round to claim the program's first men's golf championship since 2010. Kevin An won the Championship MVP honors, winning a three-man playoff to capture medalist honors.

Softball - May 3

Mavericks and Tommies share #SummitSB Regular season crown

Omaha and St. Thomas shared the softball regular season title, marking the first time either claimed the trophy since joining the Summit League. The Tommies locked up a share on the final day of the regular season with a 9-0 win over North Dakota State, while the Mavericks had secured the No. 1 seed prior to their bye week as both finished with 14-4 marks in Summit play.

Softball - May 10

Mavericks take home the #SummitSB crown

A week later, the top-seeded Mavericks won their third straight Summit League Softball Championship and are one of five Division I programs with three or more consecutive conference tournament titles. The Mavericks would go onto to win a game in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season.

Outdoor Track & Field - May 17

Jackrabbits win first #SummitOTF title

The Jackrabbit men captured their first Summit League Outdoor Championship crown in program history to become the first men’s program since Southern Utah in 2006–07 to sweep the cross country, indoor and outdoor team titles in the same academic year.

Women's Outdoor Track & Field - May 17

Bison claim 16th #SummitOTF title 

The North Dakota State women captured the programs 16th Outdoor Track Track & Field title in program history. The Bison scored 222 points; nearly 50 points ahead of second place South Dakota (175).

Baseball - May 17

Oral Roberts and St. Thomas share #SummitBSB Regular Season Title

Oral Roberts and St. Thomas shared the 2025 regular season title with both winning on the final day of the regular season to secure those trophies. For the Tommies, it was their second straight title under head coach Chris Olean, while ORU won its 21st overall.

Baseball - May 23

ORU'S  Coach Folmar became the Summit League's All-Time leader in Career Victories

With an 8-1 victory over Omaha in the semifinals of the 2025 Summit League Baseball Championship, ORU head coach Ryan Folmar became the Summit League’s all-time leader in career victories. He secured his 379th of his career with the win over the Mavericks and finished the campaign with 380.

Bison take home the #SummitBSB title

The North Dakota State Bison took down Oral Roberts 4-2 to win their third Summit League baseball title and first since 2021.

Bison coach earns first NCAA Tournament victory

The North Dakota State Bison defeated the Kansas Jayhawks in the NCAA Regional elimination game. This was the first NCAA Tournament victory for fourth year head coach Tyler Oakes. 

Outdoor Track & Field - May 29

Two #SummitOTF athletes punch tickets to Eugene for NCAA Outdoor Championships

North Dakota State’s Sam Roller and South Dakota’s Tre Young both punched their tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Roller finished in eighth place with a career best toss of 231-1 on his final attempt to earn his spot. Young placed 12th in the pole vault with a clearence of 17-5.5 to take the final ticket to Eugene. 

Outdoor Track & Field - May 30

Four #SummitOTF athletes punch tickets to Eugene for NCAA Outdoor Championships

The Fighting Hawk duo of Kenna Curry and Jadyn Keeler and the Coyote duo of Gen Hirata and Anna Willis punched their tickets to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Keeler became the first women’s distance runner in UND’s Division I history to qualify for the national championship meet after placing fifth in the 10,000 meter with a time of 34:07.67. Curry secured her spot in Eugene after placing tenth at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds in the hammer throw with a toss of 208-2 (63.44m). Both Hirata and Willis cleared 14-6 (4.42m) in the pole vault to punch their tickets to Eugene.

Outdoor Track & Field - May 31

Two more #SummitOTF athletes punch their ticket to the big dance 

Kansas City’s Tory Lanham and South Dakota State’s Cody Larson qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Lanham punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships in the 200 meter while clocking the ninth fastest time (20.33) at the meet. Larson earned his spot in Eugene in the 3000-meter steeplechase after finishing second in his heat but 11th overall with a time of 8:39.60.

Coyote grabs final ticket to Eugene

South Dakota’s Sara Reifenrath grabbed the final ticket to Eugene in the 400 meter, sprinting a career best time of 51.91 to place 11th.

Three #SummitOTF Athletes garner First Team All-American honors

Three Summit League student-athletes garnered first team All-American honors at the 2025 Outdoor Championships. The South Dakota duo of Gen Hirata and Anna Willis both cleared 14-6.75” in the pole vault to finish inside the top eight, while North Dakota’s Kenna Curry took seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 223-07”.
