ATLANTA - The South Dakota State women's basketball team was recognized by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) as the organization announced its 2024-25 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll Tuesday. The Jackrabbits are ranked fifth in NCAA Division I with a 3.760 team GPA.
The Jackrabbits were one of the top academic and athletic teams in the nation this season. SDSU, which was ranked 23rd in the final AP Poll of the season, is the only team that appears in both the final media poll and the Academic Top 25. Since the Jackrabbits moved to Division I for the 2004-05 season, SDSU has been ranked in the WBCA Academic Top 25 18 times.
In the Division II rankings, South Dakota State alumna and 2022 Ralph Ginn Award winner Lori Fish guided the St. Cloud State team to a first-place finish with a 3.892 team GPA.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season.
